General Rules



The College Office remains open from 2.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. on week days and from 5.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on Saturdays.Classes are held between 3.30 p.m. and 9.00 p.m. on all working days of the week and between 4.15 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday. The Library and Common Rooms remain open during the office hours of the College.




The time for the students and guardians to meet the Principal is 7.00-8.00 p.m. on all days except Saturdays.




Attendance in 75% of the total number of lectures delivered in each subject is compulsory for students of degree classes failing which they may not be promoted or sent up for C.U. Examination. A Student attending 60% or above but less than 75% of the lectures delivered in each subject may be sent up for University Examination on payment of requisite Non-Collegiate condonation fee.




The Academic Session of the College commences from July and ends in June every year. The first year classes commence within one month from the publication of the H.S. results. The second year & third year classes commence as per University norms within one week of the completion of theoretical examinations. Students have to take provisional admission.




The college encourages every teacher to make a detailed lesson plan to ensure effective class teaching and proper management of time. Every year, before the commencement of classes, each department arranges meeting to earmark portions of the syllabus for every teacher.



According to the free time available to every teacher a schedule for remedial / counselling classes are set. The students are encouraged to appear for mock tests before the university examinations to prepare themselves for the final exams. Since the inclination of individual students for evaluation of his/her standard matters greatly, such mock tests cannot be taken on a mass scale. Nevertheless, remedial lectures, counselling and evaluation continue on one to one basis, and this is not time bound.



Maintenance of discipline in the college premises is strictly enforced. The following are strictly prohibited:

= Talking or creating disturbances inside or outside the class.

= Loitering in the corridors or outside the college premises.

= Impersonation during roll-call.

= Damaging college property.

= Resorting to unfair means during examinations.

= Smoking in the college premises.

= Use of Mobile phone in the class rooms and examination hall.
